I would like to pull data from Esignal charting program for the stock market and put it in Excel. The data I want to extract from Esignal is the closing advancing volume and closing declining volume for each 5 minute bar of data. There are approximately 81 bars of data per trading day. I want the data to be streaming and I want the ability to continue to use Excel to manipulate the date and perform calculations with it. This project will require the use of eSignal Formula Script (EFS) which can be downloaded and used for free [][1]. EFS is coding for advance charting in javascript, which allows the user to create their own indicators or trading strategies. What needs to be done is the combining of two different indicators into one script (CCI or commodity channel indicator and stochastics). When a user combines the two just by over lapping the them it looks different thana the coded version. The goal of this project is to make them look the same since they are on different scales and increase and decrease at different rates so a multiplier can't be used. I wish to be able to make a charting package that I own called Omnitrader 2004 accept and read real time Windows DDE data format that is supplied free by my Forex trading house. Omnitrader reads I believe the code that eSignal provides and also Omnitrader appears to only accept data from a server which it has to log on to. I have secured a demo of a program called Metaserver which I believe is converting the DDE data into a format that OT can read, but it will not accept the data for some reason. Basically the strategy will generate buy and sell signals at certain times using esiganls realtime charts, these orders will then be sent to interactive brokers TWS system. The sending of orders can be done using 's system or directly using standard formulas inserted into the code via the IB broker plug-in. The basic strategy code is roughly complete in EFS code (although some may need rewriting), but needs modifying to allow for such things as stop losses and profit targets.
