In connection with voice and speech projects for dramatic purposes, I need at least one native speaker of French (Standard Continental French) who also speaks English well but whose primary language is French to Skype with me and allow me to make recordings of the session. The French speaker may read aloud an English-language narrative from a text I will provide, then also tell a very short, true (or roughly true) unrehearsed story in English. (The English need not be perfect. I am interested only in the speaker's accent.) No audio editing is required, but you must have a quiet place to Skype and suitable bandwidth for Skype. A headset is a plus, but not a requirement if you have a laptop with a good quality built-in microphone.

Recordings of your voice are *not* intended for broadcast, publication, scientific research or posting to an Internet archive for unrestricted public access. They are meant to help non-French actors learn to sound like French speakers.

In addition, I also need the same contractor to Skype with me as we revise a translation into conversational French of a short bit of dialogue from an English script, then to coach me to say it. There would be recording involved, again, and evaluation of recordings of me saying the phrases.

By virtue of applying to this job, all applicants agree to permit me to make copies of the recordings for my students, the people I coach, and anyone else connected with my projects without restriction. All applicants also waive any intellectual property rights in the translation, if any. Furthermore, the applicants agree to keep all creative property associated with this job and the applicant's involvement strictly confidential.
