As a recent graduate of American Studies, I have been working for the past year at a newspaper titled Kensington, Chelsea and Westminster Today. Writing news stories about everything from Brexit, to the new Heathrow runway to charity stalls within the walls of Chelsea hospital; I have a wealth of experience in news article writing, the research behind it, interviewing and editing. Yet, features are my strong suit; taking a story long haul and delving into the depths of a topic, researching and exploring its many creases, bumps and shadows, before creating an effortlessly explained story with a formidable conclusion. Alongside this, I have a wealth of experience writing copy for advertisers; enhancing client satisfaction whilst working to the style of the publication itself. Having written countless professional, engaging and quirky reviews for venues within the publications borough, I understand food, venue and experience writing well; having received overwhelming feedback from all positive reviews written. I have also been published in The Argus; the local newspaper for Brighton on multiple occasions, as well as a variety of blogs. I have experience with editing, sub-editing and proofreading also, with an eye for a story, detail and constant ideas about how to improve editorial content. I have a passion for writing; from the creativity it allows me to express, right through to the ability words have to teach people something, extract emotion or open a cataclysmic and perhaps earth-shattering hole of realisation and understanding within somebody. The ability to tell a story, impart some wisdom and change somebody's opinion; all through the power of words, is why writing entraps me.
