Seeking Managing Editor for Test Prep Study Guide Development

The overall responsibilities of the Managing Editor are to manage all editorial projects and resources, sometimes directly and sometimes through delegating the task to others. The Managing Editor also acts as a central hub of information, keeping all parties up to date on schedules, budgets, and goals in order to increase overall company efficiency. The Managing Editor will ideally have a math or science background but is not required. Product Development: Developing new titles according to the 2018 publishing plan Develop efficient means by which to repurpose our existing content (example: within new products, within existing products, or as components of entirely new products such as flashcards, etc.) Project Management: Maintain and update spreadsheet of our freelance talent pool, including contact info, hourly rate, and areas of expertise Develop budgets, schedules, and scopes of work for all approved projects and communicate these to project coordinators and/or vendors. Provide leadership with a focus on cost, schedule, quality, scope, and communication toward the successful delivery of projects Ensure that projects are staying on schedule and on budget by receiving regular status reports from project coordinators and/or vendors and holding regular status check-ins. Anticipate potential problems and troubleshoot and creatively solve problems that do arise. Review, verify, and process all freelance and/or vendor invoices and maintain budget tracking sheets to monitor and track costs Ensure orderly storage, organization, and regular backup of all product master files
