Website Build Using Custom Graphics with CMS Capabilities

To take multi-layered PSD (Photoshop) files from acustom design and code a web page to it. Using the PSD files, the coder willexport the graphic files and build a webpage from that design. In addition, thesite must be a CMS (Content Management Site) whereby a user can log in andmodify some of the content ??" news, photos, and events. Please read "More? Requirements" far a complete description of the project! ## Deliverables # PLEASE READ! Overview: This site was built in Photoshop with a HOME page file, SUBpages file, sample images and Background images. We would like to implementthis design into a CMS website where simple updates can be made to make thecontent up to date and easy for anyone to achieve (with a username and passwordof course!) We are not concerned about what coding method is used, whether itis HTML, PHP, or any other. What is important is the end result being a fullyfunctional CMS website. ? Structure: The following is the web site structure with a descriptionof each page and which need to have a CMS component to it. Site: This site is for a musical group. As such, it will have whatmany other music sites tend to have: photos, discographies, biographies, news,calendar of events, etc. ? Home Page: The home page will have main navigation, which will beconsistent on every page thereafter. There will be two sections that must linkto CMS components on the site: News and Events. There will be a push from thosesections to display the latest news headlines (3-5 headline) with links tothose stories and from the events section (3-5 events) with one link to theevents section. There will be no other CMS component to this page. ? # Sub Pages News: This section will have a CMS component in which news storiescan be added. They will be displayed from newest to oldest, with newest on top,and up to 7 stories. After 7 stories, older news articles will be placed into a“news archive?? sub section. A link to this sub section will be on the main newspage. Adding a news story will be done though CMS. CMS component should allowfor a headline, news body story, and photo upload. News body must be HTMLenabled incase the writer of the story wishes to add HTML. There also must be away to trash and edit after a news story has been submitted. ? About: There are no CMS components to this section. The aboutsection is split into two sections: “The Brothers?? and “F.A.Q.s?? (FrequentlyAsked Questions). The main About page has links to these two sections. In the“The Brothers?? section are two biographies. In the “FAQ?? section is a list of…you guessed it, FAQs ? Photos: The Photo Section will have a CMS component to it that willallow for photo upload and display. There will be two sections, “Recent Photos??and “Archived Photos??. The CMS should allow for a photo upload and for a choiceof which section to upload it to (Recent or Archive). The photos will bedisplayed as thumbnails that are linked to a bigger photo (or original)whatever is easier. The CMS should also allow for a “Title?? and “Description??to be entered for each photo with the ability to edit the text AND the abilityto remove already submitted photos. ? Music: There are no CMS components to this section. The musicsection is a discography of current and past albums with pictures of CDs andlinks to the store. ? Contact Us: There are no CMS components to this section. This is asimple page that has a listing of e-mails and phone numbers. ? Links: There are no CMS components to this section. This page willhave links to various websites. ? Store: There are no CMS components to this section AND this sectiondoes not to be built-out because we are handle all design and coding for thestore. ? Events: The Events section will have a CMS component to it that willallow for events to be entered and updated. Events will be displayed fromclosest to current date to furthest from current date. All events that are pastthe current date will not be displayed. CMS should allow for these differententries as text fields: 1. Event Date 2. Event City 3. Event State 4. Event Venue 5. Time 6. Event Info (Text Box with HTML capabilities) ? Once submitted the entry sill be displayed on the Eventspage as a 4 column row with: Column one containing #1 (Date) Column two containing #4 (Venue) Column three containing #2 and #3 (City and State) Column four containing #5 and #6 (Time and Info) ? Every row after that will be displayed in the same fashionas described above. The CMS should allow for editing and trashing of alreadysubmitted events. ? Conclusion: This site has a total of 16 pages with a CMS backend. Of the16 pages only 3 need to be updatable via a CMS component, the HOME page mustpush to display from 2 of those, and the store section will be completely builtbe us. Every page will have a PSD file associated with it (with the exceptionof the store page.). Simple HTML changes can be made by us, the main idea is totake the pre-existing multi layered PSD files and convert them for use on theweb. Wecurrently do not have a strict time frame on this project, but would like tofinish it by fall 2009. We are open to cost and suggestions for improving anyof our ideas or functionality.
