.net ftp back up application c# or vb.net Win2000, xp, xp pro, 2000server, 2003 server It will run on the client and let them choose the dir/folders/files to be backed up. Dir Tree checkboxes. Ftp location will keep same structure. It will run on a schedule 1-2 times daily to make backup of incremental changes to this structure they have selected and send to server. user will set #per day and times. You can run as a service. App must be low on resources always Once per week it will make a full backup of selected items then zip and ftp to server with time/date stamp An email will be sent to person/s at each backup incremental and full. This app will be running on desktops so make the email part painless to the user since we don’t want them having to play with smtp or anything like that(let me know your idea here) The app will log into the ftp server with setting we input user/pass/port etc.. It would be nice to be able to verify data integrity on upload, maybe use hash for this? let me know your thoughts on upload in checking/verification. The software will detect internet connection before it trys to send to ftp, it will attempt to backup on next connect. Don’t nag the user I will want to build the gui after you make fully functional app. I will make forms with some .net gui control Vs2003 and send to you.
