I am trying to use an API from my GSM SIM card provider that will allow me to obtained the Cell ID of the network tower when there is no GPS signal in my GPS tracking devices. My SIM card provider said this was possible and provided: [login to view URL]
I am not sure how to execute the API.
Based on network element location
Network Cell information provides an approximate location based on Mobile Country Code, Mobile Network Code, Location Area Code and Cell-ID.
To retrieve this information, you can use EMnify's API :
GET [login to view URL]{endpoint_id}/connectivity_info?subscriber=true
{
"subscriber_info": {
"location": {
"current_location_retrieved": true,
"age_of_location": 0,
"cell_global_id": {
"mcc": "262",
"mnc": "01",
"lac": 23123,
"cid": 23121
}
}
},
"request_timestamp": "2015-02-16T13:37:21.415+0000",
"reply_timestamp": "2015-02-16T13:37:51.823+0000"
}
To display this information in your system, you can compute the coordinates with any Cell-ID finder website or app. To be able to locate a SIM, the endpoint should be attached to a network.
Hi,
It would take me some time to look into API and it’s doc. I believe from what I briefly looked you need see if you have the functionality in the panel given to you by the company. If you are able to access the desired feature from there then it would be available via API as well.
My bid is tentative based on an estimated time it would take me to go over it with you .
Looking forward
