The prompt for our History Learning Objective- Within the time period of the 1800s, choose a person, event, or trend and explain why you think your choice make a significant contribution to history. (Between 500 and 1000 words) By way of advice don’t pick a topic that it too immense, like The Civil War or the American Revolution. These topics are so broad and complex that addressing them in 500-1000 words is an impossible task. Instead, focus on a specific topic within a larger issue. An example could be one specific event that occurred during one these big topics. Or identify how an invention or idea made an impact on America History. You can examine a political, economic, or social issue/movement that made an impact on peoples’ lives. It does not have to be one of the most important topics in history, but something that you feel is significant. If you focus on an individual it should not be a straight biography, but what role did they play in the time that you are examining. Be creative if you like, but it must be your own work.
