The global regulatory environment as it relates to online identity and privacy is rapidly shifting. This effort will review the major / most significant current and in-process laws, regulations, statutes that will shape the global identity ecosystem—with a focus on the United States, the European Union, Brazil, Russia, India and China. - Identify and describe the impact the law will have. For example, “The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) (EU) 2016/679 is a regulation in EU law on data protection and privacy for all individuals within the European Union. It addresses the export of personal data outside the EU. The GDPR aims primarily to give control back to citizens and residents over their personal data and to simplify the regulatory environment for international business by unifying the regulation within the EU.” - The implementation status of the item at a high-level, in meaningful terms. For example, XYZ Regulation has passed both the upper and lower legislative bodies and awaiting signature by the (signatory authority) and will go into effect on dd/mm/yyyy, after a ZZ-year transition period. - Describe any other relevant information that the reader may reasonably require to gauge the inevitability or likelihood of impact and implementation of the laws, regulations, and statutes. For example, “Unlike an EU directive, this regulation does not require national governments to pass any enabling legislation and so it is directly binding and applicable.”
