Windows Management Instrumentation- WMI scripts can automate administrative tasks on remote computers and WMI also supplies management data to other parts of the operating system and products. Before start collecting the information, first need to check and to be sure that there have administrative privileges as need these to access some WMI classes. - Need to apply a function to return the Admin status of the user running the program; Public Function IsAdmin() As Boolean; - Next will get the security credentials of the user that is running the program. - Need to check whether they are a member of the Administrator Group; - In case, if user is not an Admin, need to show message that it requires user to have administrative and privileges to function properly. So it initialise user controls and collect information. - There are scope to Retrieve OS information, System information, Memory information, Network Information, Video Information, Folder Locations, device driver information, detailed information and many more. - Nearly all of the information can be collected through the use of WMI classes. However, some information that isn't contained within a WMI class is collected through other methods. Need to apply a function that retrieves the product key used; This function retrieve all the details and decode it into CD key used to install a Product. This is the brief process.
