Becoming a Computer Scientist has been my dream since childhood. Been one of those geeky kids who would stand up in class and say, “ I want to be a Software Engineer”, when teacher asks about career path. Grew up and found the two are not the same. Were the words too big for an 11 year old?, I found myself asking often. Growing up in a place like Bangladesh, I didn't have access to computers at home. There was a small computer lab in my school and I would wait for that lab class all week. First time I sat on a computer, I see this mouse moving, it moves the cursor inside the screen. How can this be possible? The feeling of controlling a virtual world inside a screen from the outside world just allured me. How simply the window minimizes and maximizes with a click. How does this tiny object work? How does this external movement imitate itself inside a screen? That's where my curiosity and passion for computers started. Despite not being able to go to and college, I taught myself programming from scratch. Took few courses on freeCodeCamp and Coursera. Practiced for almost a year and a half. Failed miserably and buried many project ideas. Debugging, I tell you. Spent countless of sleepless nights trying to fix that one line of code. Learnt so much in the process of failure. Not all projects in the trash though. Built few simple application and games. Still learning and practising. By the way, never figured out how the mouse works. Will go do that.
