A member of the public receives a letter from your Unit offering parenting skills courses given that factors for potential child abuse have been identified. The woman is distressed that the GP disclosed her specific information without her consent. Please explain the law that is relevant to this disclosure of personal health information by a general practitioner to the health promotion unit. Questions 1.
