Main goal of this project is to allow swimmers to use mobile apps requiring internet connection, such as music streaming and interactive multiplayer game applications, while swimming. The key contribution of this work is to make Wi-Fi reconnection mechanism of mobile devices robust to frequent submergence while swimming. To achieve this, we utilize air/water pressure sensor (i.e., barometer) and modify kernel-level source code of Android OS that will allow user to stream music etc using already installed app.

I've done a little research on the topic and I think you can make this a reality by getting the frequency of the barometer shifts and quantization of the mp3 based on those barometer shift, the rest should be trivial.
