Liferay PORTLET Development

We are building a global school management system - Immediate consulting opportunity - Liferay developer (Bay Area – CA, USA ) with liferay portal development, infrastructure / architecture 5-10 years experience(environment – Ubantu/Mysql/Liferay) . Job Description: Candidate must have comprehensive knowledge of the Liferay Portal Server and be an expert at extending its capabilities, performance tuning, customizing the user experience/look and feel and developing portal content Responsible for Development and maintenance of existing Liferayportlets as needed Responsible for Development of functional prototypes to demonstrate concepts and to enable rapid iterative support for evaluative research Experience in design and development of Web Services and Portal Beans Demonstrate excellent troubleshooting skills for all tiers of web applications Must be able to work independently and as a team member. Must have professional demeanor, positive attitude, patience, flexibility and a customer-service attitude. Estimate the duration of design & development tasks on an on-going basis Write, modify, and debug portal source code modifications and portlet-style applications for use in the company intranet/internet Create appropriate documentation in work assignments such as program code, and technical documentation. Requirements Strong understanding of Liferay Application Portal Portal/Portlet experience - prefer Liferay experience of at least one year Strong knowledge and experience in Core Java, JDBC and SQL Proficient in J2EE - (Web Services) Proficient in JSP, HTML and CSS (Web Presentation Layer) Knowledge of scripting languages (JavaScript, AJAX, JQuery) Excellent team player with good communication skills Highly motivated by difficult problems & cutting edge technology Excellent knowledge and experience with JBoss and TomCat application servers Ability to work as part of team and independently Experience with source code control systems Experience with issue tracking systems Highly motivated by difficult problems & cutting edge technology
