Login Prompt Repeatedly Appears; Correct this

I have a joomla installation in a subdirectory that is password protected through .htaccess and an .htpasswds folder in the root of my hosting space, above the public_html directory. I have a Wordpress installation in the root of my public_html directory. The joomla installation is in a sub-directory of that one. Public_HTML>Wordpress>Joomla When I access the Joomla directory it prompts me for a password. I successfully enter it, but as I continue to click through the site it will continue to ask me for it even though I entered in correctly. I need this fixed so that it only asks once when you first visit the site.
