Create or Modifiy IPTV Android Application to have Channel Surfing in Android TV

I would like an Android App (for Android TV) that can play a Custom M3U8 Playlist and once I open the app, it goes directly to channel 1 in the playlist. There is already something like this in Kodi called IPTV PVR Simple Client, and all you do is put in Playlist and then you can channel surf as usual. I would like a equivalent of Kodi's IPTV PVR Simple Client in an Android App. I am currently using this: [login to view URL] And it works with no issues for custom m3u8 playlist's. But in order to go to a new channel, you have go press back on android remote. Then enter another channel. Which I dont want. This is an example of what I want as the result: [login to view URL] So when you enter the app, it takes you to that list? And then you can change channels by pressing up. Basically IPTV PVR Simple Client in Kodi. (if it would help, I can get the APK that is shown in this video)
