Integrated Information System for School Management

We are a big private school (Kindergarten/Primary/Secondary) and we want to create a new software to help us in the management of our school. We are already using a custom software written on Delphi that runs on Oracle database but we want to create something new and improved. The school management software will have to be web-based so anyone can access it from home and cover every aspect of the school processes. These should include simple things like documentation and custom reporting of students' grades, abscences and statistics, as well as processes that deal with the accounting E.R.P and tasks corresponding to the school staff. The software should also ensure the possibility of customization of parameters for reporting and statistics, as well as full level editing of users' persmissions. We are open to most programming languages but strongly prefer most modern ones (.net environment, C# and asp) and keep in mind that it would be best to try to extract as many things as possible from the current Oracle database so you dont have to start from [login to view URL] in mind that at the end of the project, we want to keep ownership of the source code. In order to ensure that the project moves smoothly we would like to test the shortlisted developers (not the companies) with a mini online assessment. The results will remain private and will not be shared with anyone else. ### General Submission Guideline * Your submissions are executed in a *NIX type environment. Assume softwares/shells etc are in their standard locations. Nothing else. * You may make as many submissions as you like, unless specifically given alternate instructions. * For JavaScript solutions, the entry point will be a function called **codeEvalExecute([optional test case])** i.e. that is the function that will be called. This function should return the correct answer. ## Deliverables The information system that will be developed is divided into 8 main sections. These sections are: *Secretariat *Cash desk *Routes scheduling *Guided tours *Library *Extracurricular programs *Document management system (ISO quality certification) and the Financial section which communicates and collaborates with all the rest of the system's sections for the extraction of statistical and other specified reports. The developed system should integrate an already developed in MsAccess application for student studies abroad. The integrated developed system will have to include the necessary interfaces for each section. All interfaces should communicate with a database for the importing and extraction of data. Moreover, the system will need to support multiple user roles with specified rights to the system and to each aforementioned section. The system's functionality should be extensible and correctly structured. The developed programming code will belong solely to the school. The programming language to be used will have to be modern, support updated libraries and to be able to construct web based environments. The system will have to be fully customizable with corresponding interfaces and also it will have to support filters for the extraction of custom reports.
