Design a small e-commerce website. This website enables clients to create and manage user accounts, browse and add items to shopping cart, view shopping cart at any time and pay for the items he has selected in the shopping cart, view history purchase information, and get help information. It should also provide administrator’s page for database maintenance. (You are expected to provide user-friendly interface for the database management) a. In the homepage you need provide at least the following components: a navigation bar for category browsing of the items you are selling in your website, links to account management, shopping cart, administrator’s page, help information (policy, introduction, contact,…), your company name/icon, and other necessary information. On the body part of your homepage you should provide information of some hot products. (You can use some small animation to emphasize this. But be sure not to distract clients too much.) b. Each client is expected to have an account in your website. Account Management page should provide two interfaces for existing user and new user, respectively. For existing users you should enable a user to log in with a unique user account name and password. Then the user can browse/edit his existing account information, or browse his shopping history. For a new user you should provide an interface to register. (Make sure the user select a unique account name without conflict with existing account names). User account should include at least the following information: user name (required), password (required), address (required), email (required), phone number (optional), credit card information (optional), and other optional information if you think necessary. c. For browsing and purchasing action, the user first selects a category from your list to see detailed items. He then selects an item to see the detailed description. If he decides to buy this item, he needs input the number of items to buy and add the item to shopping cart. He then continues browse/select items and adds them to shopping cart until the user finishes all his selection. d. The user needs then go to shopping cart to pay for the items he has selected. (Your website should give clear indication that the user needs go to the shopping cart to finish the purchasing process) He needs first log into his account if he has not logged. He needs then select payment method by using either existing credit card information in his account or a new one which he needs input. He needs also select delivery methods, address, and other necessary input. He needs further confirm and submit the purchase order. A summary page for his order should be displayed after that. User shopping history(date, items purchased, etc.) should be kept in the database. e. You should provide clear help information for your website, which at least include purchasing policy (shipping, return, contact, etc.) f. Your website should include a database named after your user name in the mysql server at [login to view URL] which has at least two tables (one for the items you sell and the other for user account information). Besides, you may need an additional table (or tables) to keep users’ shopping history. You can use cookie/session tracking/hidden form elements to complete some web page designs if necessary. You should also consider use JavaScript/CSS to create the common components of your web pages. (Try not using table for structure design). For server side programming, use PHP/MySQL for database support. Provide an administrator’s page for your website so that I can dynamically add or delete items in your database. (Your user account should include an administrator’s account with which the administrator can log into the administrator’s page: user name: admin; password: admin) g. For graduate student only: you can also add search function in your website which enables clients to search items in your database. h. Use non-frame technology for this website
