Our streaming video supplier provides detailed instructions for interacting with their system via an API. Our e-commerce site was built on the Yii framework. The task is to create the functionality necessary for sending requests to the supplier's system, and placing the resulting uploaded data into our database. Our API interface will also need to send certain customer-specific data to the supplier, and in return, receive data that will then be placed into that customer's account on our site. These tasks are accomplished using SOAP handling of XML files to transfer the data, and MySQL tools to read and/or update the database. The logged-in customer will then be able to access the information, which will be in the form of a streaming or downloadable video, hosted by our supplier. We currently have customer specific pages, but need to add the video player and the code that will display a list of links for the videos available to that customer. Potential for additional development for this site, based on experience and skill with Yii framework, as well as application development.
