Over 25 years of Automation and Control Systems Engineering Including DC Drives Not experienced with Sevcon but have lots of experience with other drives. I need to confirm that your issue is with the programming tool? Did you mean that you went to download data to the drive and it aborted and now the programming tool is locked? It sounds very unusual for a download/programming tool to lock up. Can you get me the manual for the GEN4 and/or the programming tool? I tried the Sevcon website and they have next to nothing available. All I could get was a data sheet and it showed a hand held programming tool - is this what you have? Can you tell me how you have connected the drive and what you are using it for? I would like to help you with this but I will need more information. Are Sevcon trying to help you at all? I might not have Sevcon experience but at least I know industrial motor controls. For future projects avoid tags like "programming" as it attracts the IT people who know nothing about industrial controls.
