Software drivers for hardware to be integrated or controlled by automation system

We are an existing home automation solution that ships on hardware. we are migrating everything to the cloud. We need assistance to get all the drivers written for our cloud server to connect to third party devices. There is a lot of work to be done and this needs a concerted effort over the next few months and then the work will be ongoing but less intense. The applicant will understand and enjoy hardware and connectivity. RS232, TCP/IP, socket connections. You will need to be able to read and understand technical documentation. the skills required are programming in VB and / or C# with Systems integration experience ## Deliverables This is an open ended project. We are looking for someone who will work with us pretty well full time for the next 3-4 months. I would expect it is too hard to quote from this project description so if you contact me then we can talk about it some more to determine a correct rate. We work with people that we can develop a great relationship with and we have a good expectation of our deliverables for the time charged. If you are interested then you need to put a small submission in response to this project. We can work out the exact means of quoting and payments once you have a better idea of the scope. You must understand serial strings and RS232 protocols. any other protocol expertise would be advantageous eg: Zigbee, Lonworks, Bacnet, Zwave, EnOcean, KNX or any other experience in this field should be listed We will give the programmer instructions on how to install the drivers as they are completed. The process for writing a driver would be as follows: 1. We will source the technical documentation and put it up on our project management site 2. you will read and understand the technical documentation 3. you will work with one of our guys in the office to get the system or device physically connected and come up with ways of confirming feedback - for example a webcam could show you lights going off and on 4. you will build a simple windows forms based or wpf application to test the device and make sure you have all the comms correct and the control is achieved 5. once you are completely familiar with the hardware and you know how it works you will open a VS 2010 project that we will give you 6. you will need to know C#, WPF, MEF, LINQ, Dyanmic Objects (Expando) 7. You will write the driver in this environment creating two classes, one for the driver and one for the xaml. 8. you will submit that driver back to us and we will roll it into the test environment and test it
