I have built a Django application that is currently running in a virtual env on my local machine. I've tried several different attempts to port the application to app engine, but can't seem to make it work - I'm not familiar enough with the necessary config changes. I'd like to port it to app engine and use the Cloud SQL database. I've already set up an app engine account, a Cloud SQL instance, and a Cloud SQL database. This should take less than an hour for a tenured developer. Once completed, I'd like a list of steps that were taken so that I can replicate this approach in the future.

Hi. Basically porting app to app engine can be an easy task but sometimes it needs more time - depending on the libraries you are using. Can you make a pip freeaze in your virtual env and list all libraries that you are using ?

Hi I'm not bidding to put your project on Google. What i'm going to recommend and I can do is set-up on Amazon Web Services. I, like you have tried the AppEngine in the past. I find its too intrusive on the project. AWS still takes a bit of configuring, but its less intrusive in the project. Elastic beanstalk also makes updates easy. Thanks Marc Nealer

Hi, I have worked on various Google App Engine projects which used both NDB and Google Cloud SQL Datastore. I have a query, is the problem only related with the DB configuration or the complete application needs to be configured. Please ping me for further discussion.

Hi, I can probably help you on this, as I had banged by head in porting django to App Engine couple of months back. It has so many issues, like using such a old version of django etc. An hour won't be enough as lots of things need to be setup. Also as a tenured developer, a short term project will be bit on the higher side. Feel free to talk on PM.
