I have attached a sketch of our logo idea for a physiotherapy business called "physical revolution". I'd like it to be drawn up into a finished logo.
The star represents REVOLUTION and all it's connotations of uprising - star is symbolic of revolution (russian revolution etc.) the sphere has semicircles on it in different directions to represent all the "planes" of movement - ie forwards, backwards, sideways etc i.e there are 3 planes of movement - transverse, sagittal, frontal. The sphere also represents revolution in the way that the earth for example revolves - one full revolution per 24 hours which is supposed to represent the "continuity" of our business as well as it's constantly evolving nature. The sphere also represents a ball being caught by the hand which is also indicative of movement as well as sport connotations - ie catching a ball - whether that be cricket, rugby whatever...
The hand itself is also symbolic of revolution - the fist in particular - ie che guevara revolution - black power etc etc all use the fist as a symbol of unity, loyalty, solidarity and commitment - we haven't quite got a fist but i thought the hand clasped round the sphere was the best way to go...
Obviously the logo itself would need "smartening up" - ie the sphere would need to be a perfect sphere and the star - symmetrical - the shading was supposed to give the logo a 3 dimensional feel - again indicative of movement in the 3 planes. The wording around the outside would also need to be smart but i was hoping to get a more "contemporary" feel by having the "R" in a completely different font - i was thinking if the "R" could be in the same luminous green, dripping graffiti type font as the Calvin Klein "shock" (also attached) letters - perhaps even with a circle around it like the email "AT" sign to give it an even more contemporary feel.
