Help with OpenVPN setup

I'm looking for someone familiar with OpenVPN who can troubleshoot and correct my attempt at setting up a simple OpenVPN server. I have been able to get the connection working, but only under specific settings with firewalls down and DMZ in use. When moved out of the DMZ, the client is no longer able to connect to the server unless the "Apply" button is hit on the server side router for ANY setting (weird). Then it's able to connect, but if the tunnel is down for 5 minutes, it's unable to reconnect. The scope of the project is this: + Fix server-side OpenVPN configuration and necessary router changes for port forwarding, etc. (Not DMZ of the whole server) + Fix client-side OpenVPN configuration to work regardless of local network settings or topology. + Figure out why the hostname of the server resolves to the IPv4 address of the VPN server and not the local address of the computer (seems to work fine in IPv6). + Maintain OpenVPN as a Bridged VPN network. (Client-side software requires netmask broadcasts) I have LogMeIn accounts on all computers involved. You may either work that way or you may make the changes to the ovpn config files, which I've included for your review and convenience.
