Mold preventive maintenance

Requirement: We want to incorporate a way to understand whether our molds have gone for preventive maintenance or not. Since, mold maintenance are carried after mold undergoes a fixed number of shots; we want to incorporate any mechanism to get the information, when the mold has completed that number of shots. After it being completing the number of shots, we would like to know the time of the last shot. After this, the mold is supposed to be detached from machine and sent for maintenance. We are planning to incorporate some scanning device in our Mold maintenance area, so that after cleaning a mold, it will be scanned, and this scanned data will be uploaded to the server too. Then the mold will again go for new production and shot count will increase. The time on which the shot count started increasing will be noted in server. So, now we will be having three set of data, One: when a mold has undergone the last shot after which it should go for cleaning; Two: when that mold is scanned after cleaning; Three: when the mold starts taking next shot. Logic: If the cleaning time data comes within these two shots; then the system will send green signal. If the cleaning time data does not belong in between the two consecutive shots; then it will signal red and alarm will start buzzing. The data about shot count can be read by any method, like vision or proximity or mechanical sensors. We are having full freedom of applying any kind of sensor, but the solution must be cost effective. This setup is necessary for both the injection and compression molding machines.
